In a world where there are so many claims of having heard from God; in a world where men boldly claim "God said to me"; in a world where many claim to have had dreams from God; in a world where many claim to have seen visions from God, Believers need to be very careful in order not to be deceived.

In former times, many have claimed that God said, whereas, God didn't say; many have claimed to have received dreams from God, whereas, God didn't give them those dreams:

"Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD. 
They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you. 
For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it? 
Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked. 
The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly. 
I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied." - Jeremiah 23 vs 16 - 21 {King James Version}

"And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken." - Ezekiel 22 vs 28 {KJV}

"Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith. 
Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD." - Jeremiah 23 vs 31 - 32 {King James Version}

  • Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams

Friends, it's the same today! Such prophets are around in our day, repeating these errors of saying "God said" when God didn't say. Hence, hearing God through His word becomes the safest and most accurate medium of hearing from God in a world of lies and deception.

"God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;" - Hebrews 1 vs 1 - 2 {King James Version}

  • God spoke to the Old Testament Saints by the Prophets
  • God spoke to the New Testament Saints by His Son, Jesus

This therefore means that, Every wisdom and direction regarding to our lives can be found in the things God said through the Prophets and through His Son, Jesus; these speakings are documented in the Bible—what you have to do is to search them out, by study! This means, the voice of God is in the Bible—search it out! Hallelujah!

What do you need clarity about? What's that matter you need God to speak to you about? That response you seek from God is called Wisdom! and that wisdom is already provided in the Bible! What you need to do now is to study the Bible, go through the Book and see how God addressed such case(s) for men in times past—observe what God said to them, observe the instructions God gave to them, observe how God intervened for them, and catch wisdom on how to go about your own case! Apply the wisdom in your situation, and you will have the same glorious result(s) they had! Hallelujah! Glory to God forever.
